Balga SHS is delighted to announce that our entry, Get UP Stand UP Show UP by Proud Noongar Boys, into the Triple J Unearthed High Competition has officially been awarded Indigenous Initiative WINNER 2022!

“Get UP Stand UP Show UP” celebrates this year’s NAIDOC theme and is a collaboration between the Proud Noongar Boys (PNB), Joshua ‘Flewnt’ Eggington, and students from our school’s Enterprise Music Program (Only.Love.Exists) and Aboriginal Cultural and Language Program (Ngala Koolangka Kaadadjin – Our Children’s Learning), and featuring the vocals of Samantha Samuels (IMSS vocal coach).

This song is an excellent example of how our school strives to embody our motto of “Strength in Unity”.

As a result of winning this category, Balga SHS will receive ongoing mentorship from the Association of Artist Managers (AAM), as well as a song writing workshop run by APRA AMCOS by the Songmakers Program.
