Dear parent/carer,

I am writing to address the increasing number of students using scooters and bicycles as transport to and from school. While we encourage students riding to school, it is essential to prioritise the safety of our students and the wider community.

The law states that all bicycles and scooter riders are required to wear helmets. Failure to wear a helmet when riding to or from school may result in the scooter or bicycle being held be the school, until a parent or carer can meet with the principal to discuss the matter.

To further enhance safety, we urge students to ride responsibly and at a safe speed. Please emphasise the importance of following traffic rules and being courteous to others to your students.

Yours sincerely

Mr Mark Carton
Principal
