Operation Rejuvenation
Help Us Bring Our Playing Fields Back to Life!
Our soccer oval and caged multi-sport fields are at the heart of daily life at Balga Senior High School. They are where our students stay active, build teamwork, and train, as well as where regional inter-school sports carnivals bring our neighbouring communities together. After years of heavy use and harsh Western Australian summers, the soil has become heavily compacted, patchy, and worn down.
To fix the underlying soil health and restore a safe playing surface, the Balga Senior High School P&C Association has launched Operation Rejuvenation—and we need your help to make it happen!
What We Are Raising Money For
We are bringing in specialist turf contractors to perform comprehensive soil remediation across both our main oval and caged field. The project scope includes:
-
Deep Aeration & Coring: Punching through compacted soil to allow oxygen, nutrients, and moisture to reach the root system.
-
Professional Top-Dressing: Levelling out dangerous dips, holes, and uneven patches across the playing surfaces.
-
Commercial Fertilization & Soil Conditioning: Feeding the turf with heavy-duty nutrients to drive strong, resilient root growth.
Our target for the turf remediation is $16,000. If we reach our stretch goal of $20,000+, additional funds will go directly toward installing durable limestone block seating around the grounds for students, families, and spectators.
How Your Donation Supports Our Students & Community
-
Safer Sports Facilities for Students: Levelling holes and softening hard-packed ground helps build smooth, lush green turf reducing injuries and creates a safe, high-quality environment where our students can play, compete, and take pride in their school.
-
A Hub for Local Community Groups: Through our school’s public Facility Hire framework, our grounds are open for use by local multicultural groups, church teams, and youth sports programs outside of school hours. Upgrading these fields ensures our school remains a vibrant asset for the entire Balga community.
-
Grassroots Pride: Restoring our fields ensures we can proudly continue hosting regional inter-school carnivals and sports tournaments, bringing families and visitors into the Balga community.
